The United Learning Trust is suggesting that your members give up access to the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) in order to realise a higher salary by enrolling in a different pension scheme.

Enrolment in the TPS is an essential element of their pay and reward package. United Learning has even acknowledged that the TPS ‘offers excellent retirement benefits’ for teachers.

Pensioners already face considerable uncertainty in retirement and leaving the TPS would constitute a fundamental change to their pay and rewards and jeopardise their future standard of living in retirement.
